As Iowa's first licensed medical marijuana facility, they had a lot to prove.
In a fairly conservative state the move to allow cannabis was controversial. The client was an established Ag company and their choice to clean up and repurpose an old brick industrial building set a high standard for this state of the art cultivation facility. MerJ Architecture worked as consulting architect with local firm FEH Design to create a hyperclean complex of grow rooms, processing, extraction and formulation laboratories.

Everything about the facility - traffic patterns, room layout, gowning areas, HVAC systems, even finishes - was carefully designed to maximize cleanliness and protect the product from harvest to formulation.
